At Observatory our belief is that our creative video solutions should always enhance and make an impact to your project in as many ways possible. Our unique placement in creating high end content creation for emerging and immersive technologies we understand how to activate your audiences at the idea inception stage through to delivery.

As creative digital architects we can advise which content works best for the technology deployment you have in mind and for optimum audience reception.

Motion Graphics

Motion Graphics is one of our core services. Between the team we have over 25 years of experience in 2d and 3d motion design. We adapt our techniques to accommodate different types of branding and explore narratives from the storyboard through to motion boards and final animations.

We can execute standard motion graphics in traditional formats broadcast HD and regular 16:9 content delivery. We are also experienced in adapting content for more unusual multi screen setups and large format delivery.

Projection Mapping

We’ve delivered multiple projection mapping activations for The British Museum, Lexus, Intel and the BBC. We accommodate each part of the creative process, from building scanning to green screen shoots and animation. We thrive on mapping challenges of all scales from products to palaces.

We can consult on technology providers for equipment and we have activated live campaigns that use social media aggregation for viewer interaction.

VR / AR Production

Creatively pioneering solutions for the ever changing immersive experience landscape. Offering bespoke innovative creative and delivery options including workflow for Hololens and Oculus with certified Unity staff for production in house.

Projects to date have covered event planning, stage design presentation, experiential campaigns and commissioned VR & AR art installations.

At Observatory we have in house expertise in 3D photogrammetry and 3d space pre-visualisation. We use this to help plan event spaces and experience projects before large amounts of equipment have been rented. We can apply VR to place the viewer inside the virtual event. As commercial drone licence holders we have the ability to survey larger sites, generate 3d site plans and help your team plan.


Ben Sheppee
MD / Creative Director

A hands on Creative Director who has won several awards for visual contents whilst working abroad in the US, Japan and Paris for 10+ years. Sheppee has directed several landmark projection mapping projects and has delivered and shows for A list music acts. His first company distributed art films, releasing 240 films by 70+ designers and he has written for publications on the subject.


Paulus Osei
Creative Director

Paulus has directed content for Bentley, Cartier & G-Shock and made significant contributions to FACE and I.D magazines before opening a studio to launch his own publication. He has given art direction on music videos for Daft Punk and Kylie Monogue and collaborated with Youji Yamamoto and Issey Miyake. His dedication to engage with unique sources of inspiration remains strong as ever.


Mike Faulkner
Creative Director

Experienced designer working primarily in installations, film, and experimental live performances. Beginning in print graphics, Mike’s work evolved conceptually to address social and environmental themes and explore collaborative processes. His works have been published extensively in print and on dvd internationally and his key projects have been toured for several years by the British Council.


Valeria Matolo

With a background in accounting, working for financial institutions in the city, Valeria moved on to managment accounts and now heads up affairs for Observatory. She is also generally the first on the dance floor and gets the events started, enjoying travelling with the projects. She cracks the whip to and keeps the boys in check.


Chanikul Dechpholkrang (Aun)
Lead 3d Artist

A 3D/VFX artist who enjoys blurring the line between reality and virtual, making people question whether effects being used at all. With an MA in digital effects,  Chan first joined the team from his background in projection mapping and has since expanded his skill set across platforms using a myriad of techniques. Qualified drone pilot.


Raeon McKenzie – Abbott

Digital Marketing

With a Business & Marketing degree, Raeon manages all social media platforms. While developing a distinct online presence, She also does market research and keeps up with the latest trends. She is passionate about graphic design, illustrating in her free time as a hobbyist and loves the intricate process behind the motion graphics at Observatory.
